Jake Tinsley Joins Men's and Women's Golf Programs

RICHMOND, Indiana – Earlham College Head Men's and Women's Golf Coach Matt Gehring announced the hiring of Jake Tinsley as an assistant coach for both programs on Wednesday.

"We are excited to have Jake [Tinsley] joining the Earlham golf family," Gehring said. "Jake brings with him a very impressive collegiate career that will help our student-athletes immediately."

No stranger to the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC), Tinsley was a four-year member of the Defiance College men's golf program. He was a two-time All-HCAC honoree (as a junior and a senior) as well as being named the HCAC Freshman of the Year in 2014.

"I am excited for the opportunity to join the Earlham golf program as coaching is something I have always wanted to do," said Tinsley. "Being able to work with a young team and help mold them into a championship caliber program is something that any coach strives for."

A 2017 graduate of Defiance, Tinsley earned his bachelor's degree in sports management.

Both the men's and women's golf team begin the 2017-18 season at the Beaver Fall Classic hosted by Bluffton University on Sept. 1-2.
