RICHMOND, Ind. – Earlham College sophomore Joey Gerbus was named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week, after his performance in the Quakers' 9-0 win over Mount St. Joseph last Tuesday.
Gerbus tossed a three-hit complete game in the victory over Mount St. Joseph, pitching the first half of the Quakers' doubleheader sweep over the Lions. Gerbus fanned a career-high 11 Mount St. Joseph batters while issuing just one walk in the first complete game performance of his career.
The HCAC weekly honor is the first for Earlham baseball this season. The last time an Earlham baseball player earned a weekly award in the HCAC was March 19, 2018, when Walter Talcott was tabbed as the HCAC Pitcher of the Week.
Earlham baseball is currently 15-14 overall, 7-5 in the HCAC.
