RICHMOND, Indiana – The Earlham College men's basketball team hosts Mount St. Joseph University (MSJ) on Senior Day this Saturday. Tip-off is slated for 3 p.m.

The Teams: Earlham and Mount St. Joseph. The Quakers enter the game looking to snap a four-game skid after falling 70-56 at Bluffton University on Wednesday. The Lions are 18-6 overall and 13-4 in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) play. Despite locking up an HCAC Tournament berth, MSJ fell to league champion Hanover College 72-64 at home on Wednesday.

The Coaches: Earlham is under the direction of third-year head coach Jason Polykoff. An alumnus of Haverford College, Polykoff came to Earlham from Penn, where he served as an assistant coach. He also won four state championships at Friends' Central High School in Wynnewood, Pa. Toby Carrigan, a former Transylvania University assistant coach, is in his fifth season as head coach at Mount St. Joseph. Carrigan led the Lions to the NCAA Division III Tournament last season. 

The Players: Sophomore Darrell Hutchison leads the Quakers in scoring at 14.9 points per game and in rebounding at 3.7 boards per contest. Junior Elijah Wilson-Thomas, who has scored over 20 points in three of his last six games, scores 11.9 points per game. A trio of Quakers, senior Kamari Hunter, sophomore Nick Sands, and freshman Blake Bonin, all average over six points per game with Bonin dishing out three assists per game. Junior Andrew Finley leads the Lions in scoring at 16.0 points per game. Junior Eric Edwards scores 11.6 points per contest and leads the Lions in rebounding averaging 6.2 rebounds per game.

Tale of the Tape: Points per game – Earlham 66.3, Mount St. Joseph 75.5; opponents' points per game – Earlham 77.1, Mount St. Joseph 67.7; field goal percentage – Earlham 42.0, Mount St. Joseph 46.9: three-point percentage – Earlham 36.5, Mount St. Joseph 37.4; rebounds per game – Earlham 27.4, Mount St. Joseph 32.4; assist-to-turnover ratio – Earlham 0.85, Mount St. Joseph 1.46.

Senior Day: The game marks the final contest of the careers of Lajay Kelly and Kamari Hunter. A brief celebration will be held prior to tip-off.

First Time Around: MSJ beat Earlham 87-60 in Cincinnati on Jan. 14. Hutchison led all scorers with 23 points.

Recent History: Earlham is 2-11 against Mount St. Joseph since joining the HCAC prior to the 2010-11 season. The Quakers' last win over the Lions came on Feb. 1 of 2014, a 78-73 overtime victory at Schuckman Court.
