Earlham Drops Tight Home Contest Against Transy

RICHMOND, Ind. - The Earlham College men's basketball team dropped a narrow, high-scoring affair to Transylvania University by a final score of 104-96 Wednesday night.  

Earlham placed five Quakers in double figures and the team shot 54.4% (31-57) from the field for the game.  Elijah Wilson-Thomas led all scorers in the game with 28 points.  Wilson-Thomas went 9-19 from the floor and a perfect 8-8 from the charity stripe.  Darrell Hutchison Jr. finished the contest with 17 points.  Jamel Barnes chipped in 14 points and five assists.  Kenneth Stalling Jr. and Chainey Zolman added 12 and 11 points respectively.

Transylvania's offense was potent in the game as well as the Pioneers shot a blistering 59.4% (38-64) from the field.  Gabe Schmitt finished with 27 points and went 7-12 from three-point territory. Kyle Gullet added 23 points for TU.  

Transylvania improved to 4-1 in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference play while Earlham dropped to 1-4 in HCAC action.  Earlham will host Rose-Hulman on Saturday January 6 at 2 p.m.
