Sherard Shoots 74 on Day One of Earlham Spring Invitational

DAY ONE RESULTS

RICHMOND, Indiana – Freshman Graham Sherard shot a team-low round of 74 to lead the Earlham College men's golf team on day one of the 2017 Earlham Spring Invitational at Forest Hills Country Club on Friday.

Sherard shot 40 on the front nine, but rebounded with a 34 on the back including a birdie on the par-four 18th hole. He currently sits tie for third place individually.

Freshman Jared Birr carded a round of 84 while fellow freshmen Patrick Wright and Matt Truex both turned in first round scores of 85.

As a team, the Quakers are in fourth place with a team score of 328 strokes.

Day two of competition begins with a shotgun start at 9:30 a.m. tomorrow (Saturday).
