RICHMOND, Indiana – The Earlham College men's golf team travels to the Defiance Invitational hosted by Defiance College on Saturday and Sunday.
The Course: Eagle Rock Golf Club will host the two-day invitational. The course will play at 6,100 yards and a par of 70.
Tee Times: Freshman Garrett Byrd will tee off at 11:45 a.m. with each Quaker beginning their round nine minutes afterward.
The Teams: Earlham and host Defiance will be joined by Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) members Anderson University, Franklin College, and Mount St. Joseph University along with Cleary University, Heidelberg University, Ohio Northern University, and Spalding University.
The Coach: Earlham is under the direction of first-year head coach Matt Gehring. A graduate of Defiance College, Gehring spent the previous four seasons as head women's golf coach and assistant men's golf coach at his alma mater.
The Players: Freshman Graham Sherard leads the squad with a round average of 79.69 strokes. Fellow freshmen Jared Birr and Patrick Wright both average until 85 strokes per round.
