Men's lacrosse falls to Thiel in conference contest

RICHMOND, Ind. – Thiel College jumped out to early lead it would never relinquish and went on to post a 27-0 win over Earlham College men's lacrosse, in an Ohio River Lacrosse Conference matchup on Saturday afternoon at Darrell Beane Stadium.

Kyle Reib and Brennen O'Shea each scored five goals for Thiel, while JJ Raab finished with four. Shawndel Evans II and John Smiley each recorded three goals, while six other players notched one goal apiece.

Xavier Flores played just over 54 minutes in goal for the Quakers, recording 17 saves on the afternoon. John Okker-Edging was between the pipes for the remaining minutes and charted two stops. In the Thiel goal, Cole O'Connor turned aside five shots on goal over the full 60 minutes.

Thiel finished the day with 78 shots to Earlham's 15, and the Tomcats out-worked the Quakers in ground balls, 46-20.

Earlham men's lacrosse returns to action on Wednesday, April 4, when it faces Hanover College in an ORLC road contest.
