ANDERSON, Indiana – Cory Baker's goal in the 27th minute was the difference as the Ravens defeated the Earlham College men's soccer team 1-0 in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) play on Saturday afternoon.
Anderson came out firing as the Ravens took six of their nine shots in the first 25 minutes. The hosts seventh shot proved to be the game's only goal as Baker took a pass from Noah Keller and beat junior goalkeeper Nicola Manni.
Earlham had the better play for the final 60 minutes as the Quakers outshot the Ravens 8-0 during that stretch, but could not crack the Anderson defense as goalkeeper Brandon Weer saved all six shots on goal.
Sophomore Micah Roland took two of those shots on goal while four other Quakers fired one shot on net.
Earlham (2-10-1, 2-2-1 HCAC) faces Hanover College on Wednesday. Kickoff from Matlack-Messer Stadium is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
