Men's Tennis Busy on Spring Trip to South Carolina

RICHMOND, Indiana – The Earlham College men's tennis team travels to Hilton Head, South Carolina, for its spring trip this week.

The Teams: The Quakers will play six schools from six different states throughout the week. Earlham will face St. Thomas (Minnesota) and Virginia Wesleyan on Monday, Union (New York) on Tuesday, Oberlin (Ohio) and Frostburg State (Maryland) on Wednesday, and Southwestern (Kansas) on Thursday.

The Coach: Shawn Hyden is in his first season as head men's tennis coach at Earlham. The Mount Union College alumnus spent the last two seasons as head men's and women's tennis coach at Arcardia University when he led the Knights to the Mid Atlantic Conference Commonwealth Tournament championship match.

The Players: Junior Vitalii Stadnyk leads the Quakers in singles victories with five, all of them coming at the first singles flight. Freshman Fernando Bulnes Aramburu leads the squad in doubles victories with five and also has four singles wins. Freshmen Alexandr Sergeev and Joaquin Lerner have won three singles dual matches.
