RICHMOND, Ind. – Earlham College men's tennis cruised past visiting Transylvania University with a sweep in singles and doubles on its way to a 9-0 win over the Pioneers, Thursday evening at the EC Tennis Courts.
Earlham improved to 19-3 overall, 6-0 in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference play, and won its 14th consecutive match this season.
Transylvania fell to 3-8, 2-3 HCAC, with the loss.
The Quakers emerged virtually unscathed from the three doubles matches, dropping a combined two games to the Pioneers.
It was much the same in singles play, with the closest match coming at no. 5 singles and Joaquin Lerner's 6-3, 6-1 victory over Edis Sinanovic.
Earlham closes out the regular season on Saturday, April 28, when it hosts Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in what is ostensibly a battle for the HCAC's regular season championship. The winner of Saturday's Earlham-RHIT match will earn the number one seed for next week's HCAC Men's Tennis Championship.
