RICHMOND, Ind. – Earlham College first year Ana Sosa-Ebert posted a second-place finish in the women's mile run while first year Nate Papachristos was fifth in the men's mile, to highlight Quaker track and field results at Saturday's Fred Wilt Invitational indoor track meet, hosted by Anderson University at the Kardatzke Wellness Center.
Sosa-Ebert clocked a time of 5:28.20, posting a personal best and finishing five seconds off the winning time in the event. Papachristos recorded a time of 4:25.22 in the mile, setting a new personal best and posting the best time this season in the mile for an Earlham runner.
Hailey Beel was third in the women's 200m dash with a personal best time of 27.39 seconds.
Senior Megan Hut turned in a fifth-place finish in the women's 3000m run, crossing the line in 11:47.09.
The Earlham men entered a team in the 4 x 400m relay, and Michael Grady, Papachristos, Faria, and Shriner posted a fourth-place time of 3:32.74 – a fraction of a second off the quartet's best time in the event this season.
In the field events, junior Kassidy West was fifth in long jump with a leap of 4.44m (14-6 3/4), while first year Esther Mano was eighth with an effort of 4.29m (14-1). In the pole vault, senior Annalee Wilson was tied for sixth after clearing the bar at 2.98m (9-9 1/4).
Earlham men's and women's track and field will have selected competitors at the Ohio Northern Last Chance meet next Friday, March 2, in Ada, Ohio.
