RICHMOND, Ind. – Earlham College men's track and field captured first place in four individual events and two relay events on its way to a second-place finish at Wednesday's Earlham Duals, held at Darrell Beane Stadium.
Nate Papachristos continued his dominance in middle distance events with a first-place finish in the 1500m, crossing the line in 4:13.70. Bineyam Tumbo took first place in the 2000m steeplechase with a time of 7:04.78, and Emanuel Faria clocked a time of 2:02.20 to take first place in the 800m run.
Noah Scherf rounded out the list of first place finishes for Earlham with a win in the 3000m, after posting a time of 9:19.16.
In the relay events, the Earlham men's team of Justin Kerobo, Drew Fitzgibbon, JP Dongo, and Rance Albert took first place in the 4 x 100m with a time of 47.41. In the 1600 sprint medley relay, the Quakers' quartet of Ian Shriner, Albert, Michael Grady, and Papachristos claimed first place honors with a time of 4:23.24.
In the team standings, Earlham was second among four teams with 59 points. Notre Dame (Ohio) won the meet with 99 points, while Mount St. Joseph (45 points) and Franklin College (18 points) were third and fourth respectively behind the Quakers.
Earlham track and field returns to action on Friday, March 30, when the Quakers travel to Springfield, Ohio, to compete in the Wittenberg Invitational.
