RICHMOND, Ind. – Earlham College first year Austin Burt posted a pair of first-place finishes at Saturday's College of Wooster Fighting Scots Invitational and has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Track Athlete of the Week for the week ending January 27, 2019.
Burt was first across the finish line in the mile run with a time of 4:37.28, and then again in the 3000m with a mark of 9:13.68. Both times were season-best marks for Earlham in those events.
Individually, Burt accounted for 20 of Earlham's 88 points in the meet. The Quakers finished fourth out of six teams competing.
The Earlham College track and field teams will be back on the track next Saturday, Feb. 2, when they travel to Denison University to compete in the Bob Shannon Invitational.
