Wallace scores 30th goal of the season in loss to Centre

RICHMOND, Ind. – Centre College opened with a seven-goal run before Earlham College women's lacrosse got on the scoreboard as the host Quakers were toppled by the Colonels, 20-2, in a non-conference matchup on Tuesday night at Darrell Beane Stadium.

Lauren Cole and Olivia Wallace scored the goals for the Quakers (2-9), giving Wallace her 30th goal of the year in the first season for the revived Earlham women's lacrosse program.

Colleen Jackson scored five goals for Centre College (13-1), while Bella Tacogue added four. Katy Haering recorded three goals on the evening, while Mary Katherine Hardy and Hannah Hardy had two apiece. Three other players had one goal each.

Earlham was outshot 37-6 by the prolific Centre offense, which entered Tuesday's game averaging over 17 goals per game this season. The Colonels also scooped up 30 ground balls to the Quakers' 12.

Quaker goalie Jordan Blackburne charted 11 saves over her 60 minutes in the Earlham goal, while Colonels goalie Natalie Marek was credited with one save.

Earlham women's lacrosse is on the road for its next two contests, starting with a trip to Pittsburgh, Pa., on Saturday, April 14, to face Chatham University. Game time is slated for 1:00 p.m.
