Thomas Wins Singles Match in Women's Tennis Loss at Berea

BEREA, Ky. – Earlham College women's tennis sophomore Robyn Thomas won her fifth singles match 6-0, 6-2, but the Quakers could not muster four more victories as Berea defeated Earlham 6-3 on Tuesday.

The Mountaineers took first doubles and third doubles. Taylor Moyers and Trinity Goodman defeated junior Arrita Domi and sophomore Kaitlin Morgan 8-1 at first doubles while Ashely Ferrell and Alicia Bedollah edged junior Ziqi Wang and sophomore Chloe Culler 8-3 at second doubles. Sophomores Megan Howell and Thomas won at third doubles by default.

Along with Thomas's victory at fifth singles, Howell won sixth singles by default. Unfortunately for the Quakers, the Mountaineers took the top four flights. Wang did force a third set at fourth singles, but ultimately fell to Ferrell 7-5, 3-6, 1-0(2).

The Quakers next take the courts on Saturday for a tri-match at Adrian College.
