RICHMOND, Ind. – Earlham College women's tennis swept all six singles matches to complete a convincing 8-1 victory over Manchester University, in a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference victory on Saturday at the EC Tennis Courts.
The Quakers (2-2, 2-1 HCAC) started off with two points in doubles, after the tandem of Anna Hahn and Yunjoo Shin posted a win at no. 1 doubles, and Abby Stewart and Alexandra Swank matched the feat at no. 3 doubles.
Earlham then ran the table in singles. Hahn did require a tiebreaker before taking the straight-set win at no. 1 singles, 6-0, 7-6 (2) over Karly Eichenauer. Ari Sanchez Villalpando played both a tiebreaker and a supertiebreaker before prevailing over Morgan Brazo, 6-2, 6-7 (3), 10-6 at no. 4 singles.
Earlham women's tennis will be back in action on Sunday, Sept. 23, when it faces Muskingum in a noon match.
