GREENCASTLE, Ind. – Sophomore Leilah Hicks had the top performance of the day for Earlham College women's track and field at Saturday's DePauw Invitational, hosted at the Hollensteiner Track and Multipurpose Facility.
Earlham earned eight points and finished 12th out of 12 teams. With the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference indoor track championships just a week away, the Quakers did not bring the full team to the DePauw meet.
QUAKER OF THE DAY
Hicks was tied for second in the 200m dash with a time of 27.22, earning seven points for the Quakers. She posted a time of 8.46 seconds in the 60m dash preliminaries and missed advancing to the finals by just .02 seconds.
- Sophomore Hailey Beel was eighth overall in the 400m dash, crossing the line in 1:07.91. She earned a single point for the Quakers in the team scoring. Beel also finished 17th in the 200m dash with a time of 28.49 seconds.
- Sophomore Jennifer Douyere was less than a second outside the points in the 400m dash, recording a time of 1:07.91.
Earlham women's track heads to Defiance, Ohio, next Saturday for the 2019 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by Defiance College.
