Women's Cross Country Makes 8-Spot Improvement at NCAA Regionals

DELAWARE, Ohio – The Earlham College women's cross country team took 21st place at the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional meet hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University on Saturday morning.

The finish was a 7-spot improve from 2016 when the Quakers took 28th place in a regional at Hope College.

Ellie Haland led the Quakers individually with a 78th place finish and a time of 24:13.9. Ana Sosa-Ebert finished three spots behind Haland and crossed the finish line in 24:15.7. Rachel Wilkins was the third Earlham runner to finish the 6-kilometer course, doing so in 24:36.5.

As a team, Earlham finished with 586 points and as the third Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) team, behind Manchester University and Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. Hope won the regional title with 88 points.
