SHELBYVILLE, Ind. – Sophomores Ana Sosa-Ebert and Ellie Haland were the top Quaker finishers as Earlham women's cross country placed 23rd overall at the 2018 NCAA Division III Cross Country Great Lakes Region Championship, held Saturday at Blue River Park.
Sosa-Ebert (23:48.6) crossed the line in 75th place among the 240 competitors, while Haland (23:49.1) was right behind in 76th place.
First year Remy Haggerty (24:31.4) placed 123rd overall, 120th in points, Mairead Blatner (26:05.5) was 176th overall, 169th in points, and Gabrielle Adams (27:20.2) was 201st overall, and 191st in points.
Miette Hennesey (28:16.0) and Sophie Pickering (28:26.9) were 218th and 220th overall respectively for the Quakers, and were the number six and seven runners for Earlham across the finish line.
Earlham recorded 631 points in the meet to finish 23rd out of 33 teams. Baldwin-Wallace took team honors with 114 points, while Manchester was the highest finishing Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference team in 12th place with 404 points.
Otterbein's Claire Lamb won the meet with a time of 20:58.7, finishing nearly 14 seconds ahead of second-place runner Emily Forner from Allegheny.
