Cross Country Heads to Bloomington For Indiana Intercollegiate Championships on Friday

RICHMOND, Ind. – The Earlham College cross country team is back in action on Friday as the Quakers travel to Bloomington, Ind., for the Indiana Intercollegiate Championships hosted by Indiana University.

The Teams: 20 teams from the state of Indiana will bring both a men's and a women's team to compete. Ball State University and Indiana University East will have only women compete while Indiana University South Bend and Wabash College will race only a men's team.

Big State/Little State Separation: All of the NCAA Division I teams in attendance will complete against each other in the Big State division. The NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA member institutions will run in the Little State division.

Runners to Watch: On the women's side, sophomore Rachel Wilkins finished second at IU-East's Red Wolf Rumble, running the three-kilometer race in 12:11.3. Senior Kellan Steele and sophomore Victoria Trezona both finished in the top five.

On the men's side, senior Gabriel Penk ran the five-kilometer course in 16:41.1, finishing in second place. Sophomore Daniel Kibet and freshman Oliver Daniel finished in a tie for seventh place with a time of 17:35.8.

The Course: The women will run a five-kilometer course while the men will compete in an eight-kilometer race.
