The 1971 Earlham College baseball team was the first squad to win the Hoosier College Conference title outright. It was the final year of the league and the Quakers had tied for the crown in 1955 and 1970.
During the season the Quakers posted the second most victories in Earlham history with a record of 24-11-1. The Quakers finished the season with a 1-2 mark in the NAIA District 21 Tournament.
The team members were: Dave Acus, Gerry Badovinac, Jerry Banks, Paul Beasley, Jim Bowden, Marty Cziraky, Dale Eilerman, John Flanders, Duane Fricke, Jeff Hatchett, Jeff Jay, Chris Juday, Marvin “Bud” McCollum, Bob McCoy, Mark Meyer, Bill Moore, Bill Rees, Randy Sadler, Mike Sloan, Jerry Stroud, Mark Vagedes and Tony Walsh. The team was coached by Rick Carter.
