As a senior, Mary Victoria “Dicki” Taylor Jenkins '50 received the most prestigious award an Earlham senior could receive, Earlham College Girl of the Year. She played field hockey, basketball, and tennis during her collegiate years. For 18 years, she served as varsity coach of field hockey and lacrosse at Westtown Friends School in Pennsylvania. She coached at several United States Field Hockey Association development camps in preparation for the addition of women’s field hockey to the Olympic Games in 1980. Dicki also officiated collegiate field hockey and lacrosse contests, including the New York State Field Hockey Tournament. In addition to officiating, Dicki worked for many years as a watercolor artist in the Adirondack Mountains of upstate New York.
