Robert Gunn was a four-year football player for the Quakers. The linebacker received national recognition after the 2000 season as the leader in the NCAA Division III with 178 tackles.
 
Gunn was honored by the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) three times in his career. He was All-NCAC Second Team in 2000 and 2001 after receiving honorable mention in 1999.
 
During his career, Gunn earned several team awards. He was the squad's Most Valuable Player in 2001. From 1999-2001, he was Earlham's Defensive Player of the Year. He was the EC Rookie of the Year in 1998.
 
As a senior, he was the winner of the George Van Dyke Outstanding Athlete Award Winner in 2002.
