Kevin Hayden was named Earlham's associate athletics director in February 2019 after most recently serving as the department's assistant athletics director since August 2017.
Hayden’s primary responsibilities include overseeing the department's compliance efforts, assisting coaches with the recruitment of student-athletes, liasion to the admissions department, coordinating the department's event operations and facility maintenance, coordinating scheduling for Earlham's 20 varsity sports, and operating student employment within the department.
Hayden also served as Earlham's interim head women's basketball coach in Spring 2017, stepping into the role after the sudden resignation of the program's head coach. He began the 2016-17 season as the assistant men's and women's golf coach, a volunteer assistant with the Earlham men's basketball program and assistant to the athletics director, prior to accepting the appointment to the women's basketball post.
Hayden came to Earlham in January 2015 as an interim assistant director of wellness as well as an athletics department intern. In this role, Hayden managed game day operations for 16 sports. He was also responsible for large scale events as well as assisting the coaching staff with equipment purchasing, travel, and transportation needs while also serving as the assistant advisor to the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
A 2015 graduate of Ball State University, Hayden served as an assistant baseball coach at his alma mater, Muncie Central High School, during his time in college. Hayden graduated from Ball State with a degree in sport administration, and is currently working on his master's degree from Trine University.
Hayden currently resides in Richmond.
