Mike Coduto enters his third season with the Earlham College baseball program in 2019.
The offensive and infielders coach, Coduto mentored four First Team All-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) infielders in Matt Barger, Eric Elkus, Cody Krumlauf, and Brennan Laird during Earlham’s memorable 2017 season. The Earlham offense finished 29th in NCAA Division III in scoring by averaging 7.8 runs per contest while leading the country in stolen bases (155). In addition, Coduto helped head coach Steve Sakosits lead the Quakers to the NCAA Division III Tournament for the first time.
Coduto came to Earlham from Birmingham-Southern where he served as an assistant coach since August of 2014. As a Panther, Coduto managed all aspects of infield play and the short game. He was also an assistant hitting coach, assistant recruiting coordinator, assistant strength & conditioning coach, and first base coach.
Birmingham-Southern finished with a program-best 39 wins in 2016 and appeared in the NCAA Division III Tournament. Coduto was a part of two Southern Athletic Association (SAA) regular season conference championships as well as an SAA Tournament title in 2016. The Panthers finished seventh in NCAA Division III in hits (558) and second double players turned (55). He coached 13 All-SAA honorees, eight All-South Region players, and two All-Americans.
Coduto was a four-year letter winner at North Park University where he led the Vikings to back-to-back Collegiate Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) championships and an appearance in the NCAA Division III Tournament in 2012. Coduto was honored with First Team All-CCIW honors twice as well as Division III and ABCA All-Central Region honors in 2014. He also earned ABCA/Rawlings Regional and National Gold Glove honors for second basemen.
A 2014 North Park graduate, Coduto majored in psychology. He resides in Richmond.
