INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana – The Earlham College men's golf team turned in a sixth place finish out of 14 teams at the Dick Park Memorial Invitational hosted by Franklin College this weekend.
Earlham finished with a two-round score of 632 strokes, three shots ahead of seventh place Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. Transylvania University, which as won the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference for over a decade straight, won the invitational with a team score of 606 strokes.
Freshman David Fu finished in a tie for 17th place after consecutive rounds of 78 for a two-round score of 156. Sophomore Nate Mynatt carded a round of 76 on Sunday, a six-stroke improvement on his first round score. Fellow sophomore Graham Sherard finished with a 160 (77-82).
Kevin Kim of Berea College took home medalist honors with rounds of 70 and 72.
The Quakers have two weeks off before competing in the Earlham Fall Invitational at Forest Hills Country Club on Sept. 30 and Oct. 1.
