RICHMOND, Indiana – The Earlham College men's golf team travels to the Stateline Shootout hosted by Mount St. Joseph University (MSJ) this weekend.
The Invitational: Earlham will be joined by host MSJ along with Heartland College Athletic Conference (HCAC) members Franklin College, Hanover College and Manchester University. Berea College, Miami Hamilton University and Thomas More College are also expected to be in attendance.
The Course: Both rounds of the invitational will be played at Miami-Whitewater Golf Club. The course will play at 6,689 yards and a par of 71.
The Coach: Earlham is under the direction of second-year head coach Matt Gehring. A graduate of Defiance College, Gehring spent the previous four seasons as head women's golf coach and assistant men's golf coach at his alma mater.
The Players: Sophomore Graham Sherard leads the Quakers with a round average of exactly 80 strokes through six rounds this season. A trio of freshmen, Garrett Schuler, Josh Maclin and David Fu, finish their rounds in just over 80 strokes. Maclin, though playing as an individual in last weekend's Earlham Fall Invitational, finished in a tie for sixth place as the top Quaker finishers.
