RICHMOND, Ind. – Earlham College sophomore Kim Kang was the top Earlham finisher at last weekend's DePauw University Dan Quayle Collegiate Classic and was named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Golf Athlete of the Week for the week ending September 29, 2019.
Kang shot rounds of 71 (E) and 73 (+2) on his way to a 36-hole score of 144 (+2), to finish third among individuals at the Dan Quayle Collegiate Classic at the Deer Creek Golf Club. The two rounds were the lowest of Kang's career at Earlham, and he finished one stroke off the pace set by co-individual leaders Luis Esteban and Lake Genenbacher (both 143, +1).
Kang helped lead Earlham to a second-place finish out of 10 teams in the event.
Kang is the second Earlham men's golfer to earn an HCAC weekly honor this fall; Jared Stone was named HCAC Men's Golf Athlete of the Week back on September 3, 2019.
Earlham men's golf will compete at the Wabash College Golf Classic this Saturday, Oct. 5, and Sunday, Oct. 6, at the Crawfordsville Country Club.
