RICHMOND, Ind. – Earlham College junior Joe Enwright scored his first career goal as the Quakers dropped an 11-1 decision to Mount St. Joseph University, in an Ohio River Lacrosse Conference matchup on Wednesday night at Darrell Beane Stadium.
Enwright notched his first goal at the 10:43 mark of the second quarter, cutting the Mount St. Joseph lead to 4-1. The Lions scored once more prior to the end of the half, and MSJ took a 5-1 lead into the halftime intermission.
Seth Poirier led the Lions with four goals, while Noah Borgdorf and Sean Burke charted three and two goals respectively. Jesse Purdy and Cameron Mueller each recorded one goal.
Mount St. Joseph had a 39-17 advantage in total shots, while Earlham outworked the Lions in ground balls, 27-26. Xavier Flores recorded 10 saves in the Quaker goal, while Mike Weil also charted 10 stops for the Lions.
Earlham men's lacrosse closes out its 2018 home slate on Saturday, April 14, when it hosts Saint Vincent College at 1:00 p.m. at Darrell Beane Stadium.
