RICHMOND, Ind. – The Earlham College men's tennis teams faces two Ohio schools on Saturday as the Quakers take on Baldwin-Wallace College (Ohio Athletic Conference) and Wittenberg University (North Coast Athletic Conference) at Dayton Center Courts. Earlham will face the Yellow Jackets at 1 p.m. and the Tigers at 4 p.m.
The Teams: Earlham, Baldwin-Wallace (BW), and Wittenberg. The Quakers stand at 1-1 on the season with a victory over Otterbein and a loss to Wabash. Baldwin-Wallace is 4-0 on the season including 2-0 in the spring while Wittenberg is 2-2 including 0-1 in the spring with a 5-4 loss to Albion.
The Coaches: Justin Roe is in his second season as head men's tennis coach at Earlham. He led the Quakers to an 11-10 record last season and a berth in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Tournament finals. Brian Rector is in his 27th season at Baldwin-Wallace and has a career record of 471-95. Nick Rohner is in his second season as head coach at Wittenberg.
The Players: Sophomore Vitalii Stadnyk and senior Jack Ventura-Cruess are 2-0 at first doubles this season, defeating Otterbein and Wabash 8-5. Freshman Nicola Manni, who was named "Man of the Match" for clinching the match against Otterbein, is 2-0 at third doubles with his partner, sophomore Vojislav Tatarevic. BW's Peter Harris is 2-1 at first singles for the Yellow Jackets and 3-0 at first doubles. Martin Mora is 2-1 at first singles for Wittenberg.
