Men's Tennis Falls to Franklin & Marshall

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Earlham College men's tennis team concluded its spring trip with a 7-2 loss to Franklin & Marshall College (Pa.) on Thursday morning.

Sophomore Vitalii Stadnyk came from 5-2 down in the first set to defeat Doug Kaplan 7-6 (7-4), 5-7, 1-0 (10-7) at first singles. Kaplan, the three-time defending conference player of the year, is ranked No. 24 in the Atlantic South region by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA).

Stadnyk also aided the Quakers in doubles. He, along with senior Jack Ventura-Cruess, defeated Kaplan and Jack Rothman 8-6 at first doubles. The two are 9-2 at first doubles this season.

The Diplomats won the other seven flights in straight sets.

The Quakers stand at 4-7 on the season and return to action on March 25 for a 3 p.m. match at Georgetown (Ky.).
