RICHMOND, Ind. – The Earlham College men's tennis team hosts Marietta College at 4 p.m. on Wednesday in the home opener for the Quakers.
The Teams: Earlham and Marietta. The Quakers stand at 5-8 on the season after sweeping Berea College (Ky.) 9-0 last Saturday. The Pioneers are 9-8 on the season and are currently on a three-game winning streak.
The Coaches: Justin Roe is in his second season as head men's tennis coach at Earlham. He led the Quakers to an 11-10 record last season and a berth in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Tournament finals. Mike Carpenter enters his fourth season leading the Marietta Tennis program.
The Players: Reigning HCAC Most Valuable Player and Freshman of the Year Vitalii Stadnyk sits at 8-5 at first singles and 10-3 at first doubles, with partner senior Jack Ventura-Cruess. Sophomore Vojislav Tatarevic leads the team with 10 singles victories on the season. Alex Shaeffer has a 7-9 record at first singles for Marietta.
