ANDERSON, Ind. – The Earlham College men's tennis team improved to 6-1 in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) play with a 6-3 win over Anderson University on the road on Monday afternoon.
Senior Jack Ventura-Cruess and sophomore Vitalii Stadnyk defeated Andew Gingerich and Jacob Hopper 8-3 at first doubles. Sophomore Vojislav Tatarevic and freshman Nicola Manni won their third doubles match 8-1 over Zachary Van Duyn and Jesse Greene.
Anderson squeaked out an 8-6 win at second doubles.
In singles Stadnyk, Manni, Tatarevic, and Ventura-Cruess won first, third, fifth, and six singles respectively surrendering at most three games in the straight set wins. The Ravens won second and fourth singles both in straight sets.
Earlham stands at 12-9 overall and can clinch at least the No. 2 seed in the HCAC Tournament with a win over Hanover College in the regular season finale on Wednesday.
