RICHMOND, Ind. – The Earlham College men's tennis team concludes its regular season with a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) match at Hanover College on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m.
The Teams: Earlham and Hanover. The Quakers are 12-9 overall and 6-1 in the HCAC after a victory over Anderson on Monday. The Panthers are 12-8 overall and 5-2 in the HCAC.
The Coaches: Justin Roe is in his second season as head men's tennis coach at Earlham. He led the Quakers to an 11-10 record last season and a berth in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Tournament finals. Ryan Miller is in his second season leading the Hanover men's tennis program.
The Players: Reigning HCAC Most Valuable Player and Freshman of the Year Vitalii Stadnyk has a 16-5 record at first singles and a 16-5 record at first doubles, along with senior Jack Ventura-Cruess. Sophomore Vojislav Tatarevic leads the Quakers with 18 singles wins, primarily at fifth singles. Zachary Van Duyn leads the Ravens with three singles wins. Brent Barrett and Andrew Fox each have 14 singles wins for the Panthers.
Singles and Doubles Team Stats: Earlham is 81-48 in singles competition as a team and 41-22 in doubles. Hanover is 76-44 in singles and 34-26 in doubles.
HCAC Player of the Week Honors: Stadnyk was named HCAC Men's Tennis Player of the Week for leading the Quakers to a 3-2 record a week ago. Stadnyk finished 3-0 in singles including a straight-set win over Rose-Hulman's Georges Adam. He also finished 2-1 in doubles.
HCAC Tournament Seeding Implications: Earlham can clinch the No. 2 seed a win over Hanover.
Recent History: Earlham has not lost to Hanover since joining the HCAC prior to the 2011 season.
