RICHMOND, Ind. – The Earlham College men's tennis team prepares for the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Tournament held at the West Indy Racwuet Club this weekend.
The Teams: The top six teams in the HCAC qualify for the conference tournament. The seeds are as follows: No. 1 – Rose-Hulman (8-0), No. 2 – Earlham (6-2), No. 3 – Transylvania (6-2), No. 4 Hanover (6-2), No. 5 – Franklin (4-4), No. 6 – Manchester (2-5).
The Coach: Justin Roe is in his second season as head men's tennis coach at Earlham. He led the Quakers to an 11-10 record last season and a berth in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Tournament finals.
The Tournament: The first round will take place on Friday, May 6. Hanover will face Franklin and Transylvania will battle with Manchester. Both matches will begin at 6:30 p.m. The semifinals will happen on Saturday with Rose-Hulman playing the winning of Hanover and Franklin while Earlham will face the winner of Transylvania and Manchester. The finals of the tournament will begin at 10 a.m. on Sunday.
Recent History: Earlham has won three of the last four HCAC tournaments. The Quakers did fall in the HCAC Tournament finals a season ago, however.
