RICHMOND, Indiana – The Earlham College tennis program will be hosting a Universal Tennis Rating (UTR) Tournament on campus from Sept. 1-3.
The tournament, which ends its registration on Aug. 28, will feature matches that are best-of-three sets with a consolation back draw that has pro set matches. Every registrant will be guaranteed two UTR reported matches.
The UTR is a global system that aims to generate objective, consistent, and accurate ratings of skill in the game of tennis. UTR rates all players on a single 16-point scale, without regard to age, gender, nationality, or locale of a given match.
"I'm excited for our chance to host a UTR event on campus," head men's and women's tennis coach Shawn Hyden said. "I think it will be a great opportunity to bring out our entire tennis community to participate and see some fun competitive tennis matches right on campus!"
