RICHMOND, Ind. – Earlham College first year Nikolaos Trikkas-Psomas was a perfect on the courts over three matches last week and was recognized with the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week honors, for the week ending April 21, 2019.
Trikkas-Psomas went 3-0 in singles matches and was 2-0 on the court in doubles while leading Earlham men's tennis to a 3-0 week, with HCAC victories over Defiance (9-0), Anderson (9-0), and Mount St. Joseph (9-0). His straight-sets singles wins against Defiance and Anderson were at no. 2 singles, with a straight-sets victory at no. 1 singles in the match against Mount St. Joseph.
With the victories, Trikkas-Psomas remained undefeated in HCAC singles competition with a 5-0 record. In doubles play, Trikkas-Psomas teamed up with Nicola Manni for wins at no. 2 doubles against Anderson and Mount St. Joseph, maintaining his unblemished 4-0 record in HCAC doubles matches.
Earlham men's tennis currently holds a 13-7 overall record, with a 5-1 mark in the HCAC. The Quakers return to action on Wednesday, April 24, when they travel to Lexington, Ky., to face Transylvania University.
