Men’s tennis opens 2019-20 slate with win over Miami-Middletown

RICHMOND, Ind. – Earlham College men's tennis opened its 2019-20 season on Sunday with a 9-0 shutout of visiting Miami-Middletown at the EC Tennis Courts.

Alex Sergeev and Lennart Harms (no. 1 doubles) and Jason Lawson and Joaquin Lerner (no. 2 doubles) helped give Earlham a commanding lead coming out of the doubles matches.

Sergeev, Lawson, and Lerner won their matches at nos. 1 through 3 singles to seal the win, with Harms eventually taking his no. 4 singles match after his opponent retired. Eli Sadler came out ahead in his match at no. 5 singles.

Earlham men's tennis returns to the courts on Wednesday, Sept. 25, when it hosts I.U.-East at 4:00 p.m. on the EC Tennis Courts.
