Track teams have final pre-conference tune-up at MSJ Invitational

CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Earlham College men's and women's track and field teams had their final pre-conference championship tune-up on Saturday at the Mount St. Joseph University Invitational at the Schueler Field Complex.

Megan Hut had the day's top result for the Quakers with her win in the women's 1500m run. Hut won the event with a time of 5:08.99, while Mairead Blatner was third with a time of 5:23.41.

Ana Sosa-Ebert took first place honors in the 800m run, crossing the finish line in 2:29.02. Hut finished third in the event with a time of 2:37.27.

Raven McCree also posted a third-place result with her finish in the women's 100m hurdles, with a time of 19.81 seconds. Lindsay Gearin finished second in the women's 5000m run in a personal best time of 20:53.30.

In the men's meet, Nate Papachristos had the day's top showing with his second-place finish in the 800m run with a time of 2:00.00.

Drew Fitzgibbon was fourth in both the 100m dash (11.71 seconds) and the 200m dash (23.60 seconds). Bineyam Tumbo placed fifth in the 1500m run with a personal best time of 4:18.10.

The Earlham track and field teams will compete in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Friday, April 27, and Saturday, April 28, at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, Ind.
