WILMINGTON, Ohio – Earlham College sophomore Austin Burt took fourth place overall to lead Earlham College men's cross country at Friday's Wilmington College Quaker Challenge invitational.
Burt clocked a time of 16:12.7 in the 5K event – shaving over a minute off the 17:14.4 he ran in his lone 5K of 2018 as a freshman.
Sophomore Cade Orchard was second among Earlham finishers, 15th overall, with a time of 17:04.2 (14th points).
As a team, Earlham finished third out of seven teams at the meet with 89 points. Mount Union won the Quaker Challenge with 33 points, while the host squad from Wilmington took second place with 43 points.
Earlham men's cross country returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 14, when it travels to Powell, Ohio, to compete in the OWU Invitational.
