Men’s cross country finishes 25th at NCAA Great Lakes Regional

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Earlham College men's cross country team finished 25th out of 37 teams at the 2019 NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional Cross Country Championships, held Saturday at Calvin College.

The Quakers had 687 points.

Sophomore Cade Orchard was the top Earlham men's runner across the finish line, completing the 8K course in 25:51.6.

The event was shortened by approximately 500 meters due to course conditions.

Sophomore Austin Burt posted a time of 25:56.1 and finished 95th overall, while junior Bineyam Tumbo was 142nd with a time of 26:39.6.

First year Henry Foultner (177th, 27:14.2) and junior Israel Ramos (192nd, 27:36.6) rounded out the scoring finishers for the Quakers.

Host Calvin College won the meet with 43 points, with all five scoring runners finishing among the top 20. Otterbein's Chase Hampton won the individual title in a time of 24:02.4.

Manchester's Samuel Barnard was the top Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference runner in 31st place with a time of 24:50.0.
