Kasin Spay and Hannah Franklin led the Quakers with 17 points each against the Spartans (3-2, 1-1) on Schuckman Court in the Athletics and Wellness Center. Franklin also had five assists.
Shania Feathers added nine points, while Mariah Flynn finished with eight points and a game-high eight rebounds. Maya Luney had six points and seven rebounds.
Earlham worked its way to a 14-5 advantage by the 14:58 mark of the first half as Hannah Dyer drilled a 3-pointer.
Manchester was able to battle back into the contest as the Spartans eventually tied the game at 21-21 with 8:08 left in the opening period.
By intermission, the Quakers were able to answer as they led 32-28.
In the second half, Earlham was able to maintain a small advantage until the Spartans tied the affair for the fifth time at 43-43 with 14:35 left to play.
Later in the frame, the Quakers led 65-60 when Feathers scored at 5:02.
The Spartans eventually took the lead for good with what turned out to be the final points of the game when Alyssa Hammond hit a pair of free throws with 1:17 left.
Earlham had four shot attempts in the final moments included two in the last two seconds.
The Quakers (2-4, 0-2) are back in action at home on Tuesday against Wittenberg University at 7:30 p.m.
