Wilkins paces women’s golf in round one at Stateline Shootout

HARRISON, Ohio – Earlham College women's golf opened up its 2019 season at the Mount St. Joseph University Stateline Shootout with a 376 (+84) over 18 holes, putting the Quakers seventh out of nine teams on the team leaderboard following Saturday's first round.

Senior Emma Wilkins led the way for the Quakers with an opening-round 86 (+13) and tied for sixth place overall in the field of 63 golfers.  Wilkins was only four shots off the lead after day one.

Junior Megan Garner fired a 96 (+23) and was tied for 30th overall through 18 holes, while sophomore Claire Waggener and senior Hannah Toresdahl each carded a 97 (+24) and were tied for 34th overall.  Myra Robinson rounded out the team shooting a 104 (+31) and is tied for 51st overall.

Junior Brittney Chong and sophomore Daniela Joseph are competing at individuals this weekend.  Chong fired a round of 115 (+42) and Joseph shot a 120 (+47).

Patricia Windholtz from Mount St. Joseph University leads the field of 63 golfers with a nine-over 82 in the first round.  Hanover College leads as a team with a team score of 346, one stroke ahead of second-place Mount St. Joseph University.

Round two of the MSJ Stateline Shootout begins on Sunday, Sept. 1, 2019, at Miami Whitewater Forest Golf Club with tee-times starting at 10 a.m.
