BLUFFTON, Ohio – Earlham College senior Hannah Toresdahl was the top Quaker golfer on the leaderboard following the first day of competition at the 2019 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Preview tournament, held Saturday at the Bluffton Golf Club.
Toresdahl fired an 86 (+14) on the par 72, 5,817-yard Bluffton course, and was tied with two other golfers for 22nd on the individual leaderboard.
Fellow senior Emma Wilkins and sophomore Myra Robinson were both tied for 45th overall after carding rounds of 94 on Saturday. Claire Waggener was 50th overall with a 96, while Megan Garner was tied for 52nd with a 98.
Earlham finished the day ninth out of 11 teams in the event, which gives teams an advance look at the course that will host the HCAC Championship in October, with a 370. Transylvania University leads the field after carding a 319 in the opening round. Transylvania's Lexie LaMar shot a three-over 75 to sit atop the individual leaderboard, with a three-shot lead over Rose-Hulman's Rachel Zhang.
