WOOSTER, Ohio – Earlham College women's golf was sixth out of nine teams following Saturday's opening round at the College of Wooster Eva Shorb Invitational.
The Quakers carded a 386 (+98) in Saturday's round at the par 72, 5,803-yard Wooster Country Club, and one stroke behind fifth-place Marietta College on the team leaderboard. Otterbein University (349, +61) led the field following the first round.
Senior Hannah Toresdahl was the leading Earlham golfer on the individual leaderboard; Toresdahl fired a 91 (+19) on Saturday, and was tied for 15th among individuals. Junior Megan Garner was five strokes back in 22nd place with a 96 (+24), and sophomore Claire Waggener was tied for 27th with a 99 (+27). Senior Emma Wilkins carded a 100, and was tied for 29th.
Marietta's Beth Lebar was atop the leaderboard with an 83 (+11), and held a two-stroke lead over her nearest competitors.
The Eva Shorb Invitational concludes on Sunday, Oct. 6, with the second round starting at 10:00 a.m.
