RICHMOND, Ind. – Earlham College head women's lacrosse coach Molly Macdonald announced the hiring of Patricia Ryan as the program's assistant coach on Monday.
"We are very excited to have Patricia join our coaching staff," Macdonald said. "She brings a great depth of knowledge and talent from her playing career at Ohio Wesleyan as well as from her experience coaching youth lacrosse at various venues. She'll be a great recruiter and excellent addition to our new program."
Ryan comes to Earlham from Ohio Wesleyan University (OWU) where she completed a stellar career for the Battling Bishops' women's lacrosse program. Ryan has 102 career goals, 53 assists, and 155 career points. She finished in the top three in scoring for OWU each of her four years as a women's lacrosse player.
Ryan has experience leading youth as she worked with the YMCA for three summers as well as at the Boys & Girls Club of Columbus this past summer. As the head camp counselor of the YMCA in the summer of 2015, Ryan was responsible for overseeing the entire camp staff as well as coordinating day-to-day events and operations.
"I am very excited to be at Earlham, and I am really looking forward to working with Molly," Ryan said. "We are in a unique situation, being that we are both new here and starting up a program, but I think that will make the job all the more special! I am excited to start recruiting, traveling, and getting players on board to what will soon be a great team! Go Quake!"
A 2016 graduate of Ohio Wesleyan, Ryan majored in history. She and Coach Macdonald will have a year to recruit before beginning competition in the Ohio River Lacrosse League in the spring of 2018.
