CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. – Earlham College senior Olivia Wallace scored six goals and added a pair of assists to lead the Quaker women's lacrosse team to a 15-4 win over Thomas More College, in an Ohio River Lacrosse Conference clash on Saturday at BB&T Field.
The win was the first conference victory and first road win for the revived Earlham women's lacrosse program, currently playing in its first season since 2003. The Quakers improved their record to 2-5 overall, 1-2 ORLC, with Saturday's triumph.
After Thomas More's Jeni Hall interrupted the Earlham run with a goal at the 21:44 mark, the Quakers rattled off the next six goals to take a 9-1 lead. The Maroon and White held an 11-3 lead at the intermission, and added four more goals in the second half to complete the rout.
Cole finished with four goals and one assist for the Quakers, while Lady recorded three goals and one assist. Alexis Warren and Esmerelda Mendiola each added a single goal.
Jordan Blackburne charted eight saves over her 60 minutes in the Earlham goal, while TMC's Gillian Casey tallied seven stops. The Quakers outshot the Saints, 30-16, and had a 10-8 advantage in ground balls.
Earlham women's lacrosse completes the two-game road swing on Wednesday, April 4, when it faces Mount St. Joseph University in an ORLC road contest.
