RICHMOND, Ind. – Earlham College first year Jordan Blackburne became the first Quaker women's lacrosse player to earn conference honors when she was named the Ohio River Lacrosse Conference Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending April 22, 2018, when the league's weekly awards were announced Monday.
Blackburne recorded 15 saves in Earlham's 16-7 victory over Westminster College (Pa.) on Sunday, as the Quakers improved to 3-11 overall, 2-7 in conference play. Her aggressive play outside the crease resulted in 12 groundballs and three caused turnovers.
Blackburne currently has a league-high 170 saves this season. Her 12.31 saves per match ranks second in the ORLC and 18th among Division III leaders.
Earlham returns to action on Wednesday, April 25, when it closes out its 2018 home slate by hosting Franklin College at 7:00 p.m. at Darrell Beane Stadium.
