RICHMOND, Ind. – Earlham College women's lacrosse dominated on both ends of the field over three games this week, propelling junior Emma Lady and sophomore Jordan Blackburne take home both Heartland Collegiate Athletic Lacrosse Conference(HCLC) Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively.
Blackburne charted 20 saves in Earlham's three road-game victories over their spring break trip to Ferrum, Virginia. In the opening game Blackburne tallied six saves for a 17-3 victory over Hollins on Monday, March 11. She followed that performance with eight saves in the 17-6 win over Ferrum (March 13), and six saves in their 12-2 win over Salem College (March 15). Throughout the three games, Blackburne only allowed 11 goals finishing with a .645 save percentage.
This is Blackburne's second career player of the week honor, earning Defensive Player of the Week in the Ohio River Lacrosse Conference (ORLC) last April.
On the other end of the field, Lady added 16 goals and four assists leading to 20 total points in the three matchups. In the opening game versus Hollins (March 11), Lady tallied seven goals and one assist during the 17-3 win. In the next victory against Ferrum on Wednesday, March 13, she charted six goals and three assists, and finished off the week with three goals in the 12-2 victory over Salem College.
