WILMINGTON, Ohio - Sophomore goalkeeper Sair Stissi tallied a season-high 19 saves in a 5-0 loss for the Earlham College women's soccer team at Wilmington College in the Quaker Bowl rivalry on Wednesday evening.
Wilmington's Alex Vestal scored both of the hosts goals in the first half with one coming 10 minutes into the game and the other at the 24:26 mark. Trailing 2-0 at halftime, Earlham kept in the game within reach for the first 20 minutes of the second half, but two goals in a minute's span for Wilmington put the game away.
Earlham was out-shot 35-1 in the game with Wilmington also holding an 8-0 edge in corner kicks. Sophomore Emma Lady fired Earlham's lone shot.
Earlham (2-3-0) will return to Matlack-Messer Stadium for a 1 p.m. game against Berea College on Saturday.
